Remembering Howard Zinn

An American treasure of thought passed .....

Be sure to check out his best work, "A People's History Of The United States" when you can.

Coming later, review of South East Pennslyvania

Zinn was a great thinker but very dry to read. Found that out in my AP US class- we sometimes used "A People's History" as an in-class text.

I preferred Paul Johnson. No, not the football coach, the British historian. More fun to read, gave an interesting perspective on American history by a foreigner, and he was a conservative compared to the liberal Zinn. Nothing wrong with that, just I lean towards the conservative side myself.

Oh, forgot to mention I was very sad when I read of his passing. I prayed that night. He was a very good man.
